As final preparations continue for local swimmer Charlotte Parkin's protest event tomorrow Saturday 29th June in Cuil bay, news has come through that the event is to be filmed by a professional filmmaker, James Appleton.
You may remember James from the series he made for STV about Cal Major's epic paddle boarding adventure around Scotland. On that journey, they were both horrified at how our coastal and marine environment has been polluted over the decades - microplastics, fish farming effluent etc - and so are now heavily involved in supporting community groups who are fighting to save our lochs.
James will be here and filming the protest tomorrow, so even if you don't dip your smallest toe in the water, PLEASE come along and support - even better, with a placard or banner - NO to POLLUTING OUR LOCHS! NO TO MEGA POLLUTING INDUSTRIAL FISH FARM ON OUR LOCH! NO to MICRO PLASTICS! NO to ALGAL BLOOMS!
We need to deny Loch Long Salmon and their like a social licence to operate so that our marine and coastal environment is allowed to thrive instead of being desecrated by inappropriate industrial development.
Reminder: tomorrow's protest takes place at/in Cuil bay 9:30am (Saturday 29th June).
