Although the planning application for the proposed Lurignish salmon mega farm has been put back yet again, we know that we will have to be completely prepared for when it is finally submitted.
The formal planning process is clear in that, however strong community feeling might be, only if a rule is contravened will planning permission be rejected - and even then, rejection is by no means guaranteed. So we will very much need the very best expert advice, in particular to review the application's Environmental Impact Assessment when it is eventually published.
We are currently seeking quotes from experts to cover some of the EIA areas and would be very grateful if anyone knows someone clever (it might even be you!) who is qualified in one of the following areas:
> Site selection
> Seascape, Landscape and Visual Assessment
> Ecology
> Ornithology - terrestrial, coastal, marine
> Geology, Hydrology and Hydrogeology
> Marine Water Quality
> Cultural Heritage
> Traffic and Transport
> Noise
> Land Use and Maritime Activities
> Socio-Economics, Tourism and Recreation
> Planning Policy
Any thoughts, suggestions or expressions of interest - please let us know by email to info@longlivelochlinnhe.org.uk. Many thanks!
